Thankfully, there are lots of affordable, fun outdoor games that your children can do together. If you want them to make the most of their time outside, here are five more great outdoor games for children.

Create outdoors art

Give each child a plastic container and ask them to fill it with things they could use to create a picture. Rocks, sticks, flowers, dirt, grass and leaves can all be used to create a beautiful picture – and all you need is some plastic containers, paper and glue!

This game comes with some extra benefits. According to Raise Smart Kid, art is beneficial for children due to it building confidence and problem-solving skills.

Play target

Draw some targets with chalk on the walls outside your house and ask the children to try to hit the target with a ball. Just make sure that the wall is far away from your windows and anything else that could be damaged!

Camping

Set up a tent using an old sheet or some blankets, or you can drape the blankets over a clothes airer or a climbing frame to create a private den. If you want to buy a climbing frame, there are lots of wooden climbing frames available from suppliers such as http://www.niclimbingframes.com/climbing-frames.

The big box game

Check your home and garage to see whether you have a big cardboard or plastic box that your children can decorate. Take the box outside with some pens, stickers, glitter and glue, and ask your children to create a space rocket or a castle.

Street sports day

Host a street sports day so that all the children can play together. Set out skipping ropes, hopscotch, balls and lines for running races – you could even make some hard-boiled eggs for an egg and spoon race! This is a great way for the children to get some exercise while having fun together.
