There are treatments for obesity and overweight, and may be surgical and non – surgical treatments , to be applied according to the need of the patient and medical recommendations that aim of treatment to achieve and maintain a healthy weight.

Nonsurgical treatments for weight loss

Among them are:

Diet

A  diet low in calories, which is part of a healthy eating plan is vital to overcome obesity.

Physical exercise

It forms complementary part to the diet and is as important as diet to mobilize body fat.

Medicines

In certain cases and always advised by the doctor, the administration of drugs to treat obesity may be necessary, provided that the BMI of the patient is 30 or greater, or greater than 27 and the patient has other medical complications, such as diabetes, high blood pressure or sleep apnea.

Intragastric

The treatment of intragastric balloon is performed endoscopically and silicone balloon is placed in the stomach for a period of six months, which provides satiety by eating small amounts of food and is subsequently removed by passing this time.

Surgical treatments for weight loss

There are several surgical treatments to treat obesity and lose weight :

Gastric bypass

Adjustable Gastric Banding

In this treatment to lose weight a small band around the top of your stomach is placed and done laparoscopically.
